Contributions from REHVA member associations in Denmark, Finland, France, Latvia, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland offer first-hand accounts of national implementation efforts, revealing a mixed picture: some countries report full transposition, while many others are still navigating complex legislative processes.
These country reports are complemented by articles on the EPBD’s legal framework, REHVA’s evidence-based advocacy through EUPAG, and tools for bridging the gap between regulatory compliance and actual energy performance.
The issue also covers the completed MODERATE project and its open-source infrastructure for building energy data, research into ceiling fans and office furniture as a low-energy cooling strategy, and a two-part series on EPDs for ventilation components and building lifecycle assessments.
An interview on the shift from prescriptive to performance-based approaches in residential ventilation design rounds off the technical content. The issue also features REHVA news from the 2026 Annual Meeting in Nice and the student competition.
