Heat pumps

An air-source system is simpler and less expensive to install, while a ground-source system has a more stable heat source. The choice depends on the load, site, geology, available electrical capacity, budget and expected service life.

Yes, provided the model and system are selected for the design temperature. We account for reduced capacity, defrost cycles, flow temperature and the need for a backup heat source.

Yes, if their heat output is sufficient at a lower heating water temperature. This is verified by calculation; larger radiators, fan coil units or a bivalent system may be needed.

Yes. This requires a correctly sized hot water cylinder and heat exchanger surface area, domestic hot water priority, recirculation and a periodic thermal disinfection cycle.

Yes. Cooling uses fan coil units or surface cooling systems, with dew point and condensation control essential.

The heat recovery unit reduces the load, while the heat pump can provide additional heating or cooling of the supply air. Some configurations also recover heat from extract air or industrial processes.

Yes. We first check heat losses, the heating temperature schedule, radiators or fan coil units, hydraulics, power supply and space for the outdoor unit or ground loop.

Savings depend on seasonal SCOP, energy prices, heating water temperature, insulation, climate, operating schedules, controls and the quality of system setup. We assess the annual energy balance, not just the rated COP.
