Carrier is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions. The 23XW chiller is optimised for cooling, with a nominal capacity of 75 to 200 tons (264–703 kW), while the 23XQ heat pump provides a heating capacity of 960 to 2900 MBH (281–850 kW).
They are designed to meet the growing demands of modern buildings, with a focus on energy efficiency. The 23XQ also provides heating up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit to support decarbonisation efforts.
The 23XW and 23XQ were designed for ultra-low-GWP* PUREtec™ R-1234ze(E) or A-1-rated R-515B refrigerants, with a refrigerant economiser to improve efficiency. Both feature a robust design with next-generation screw compressors optimised for part-load operation and liquid motor cooling for a wide operating range.
The intelligent Greenspeed® VFD delivers improved performance under off-design conditions. The 23XW/XQ can respond to system changes at a rate of 70 per cent per minute. This provides greater system flexibility and may also allow a smaller loop volume.
