TechVantage Ignite combines classroom and self-paced online learning with mentoring and on-the-job training. The programme begins with a two-week induction at Carrier University training centres in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kennesaw, Georgia.
Participants in the initial cohorts represent local offices across the United States, including Arizona, California, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Texas, Utah, Washington and West Virginia. “Thirty-nine years ago, I was in your shoes,” said Rich Simpson, Associate Director of Field Service at Carrier Commercial Service, at the start of the HVAC programme.
"From experience, I can tell you that Carrier is a great place to work. From culture and safety to providing the skills and development you need, we strive to do our best and help you grow and learn." The TechVantage Ignite programme is designed to accelerate learning and skills development for new technicians and engineers.
The curriculum is structured as a year-long programme with learning objectives supported by service and field operations managers. "We are delighted that the next generation of our business is getting this early-career boost through the TechVantage Ignite programme," said Andy Bierer, Managing Director of Automated Logic Field.
"This hands-on experience, combined with our ongoing partnerships with vocational schools and other organisations, creates a bright future for our industry. TechVantage Ignite is part of Carrier’s wider TechVantage initiative, launched in January. The initiative includes hiring 1000 service technicians in the US.
